The following descriptions are different stories/ideas/projects I’m currently working on. The first is the screenplay I had been posting about in Cost of Living

• Title: Elevation 7000
• Type: Full-Length Screenplay
• Genre: Black Comedy/Drama
• Status:  Complete
• Length: 117 pages
• Outcome:  Quarterfinalist in The Nicholls Screenwriting Fellowship competition.
• Concept/tagline: three outcasts (a single mom, gay boy, Navajo girl) combine their drug-dealing talents and plot revenge on their small tourist town.

• Title: Stoner Chicks
• Type: Full-length screenplay
• Genre:  Stoner Chick Flick/Pot Comedy  Status: Complete
•  Length: 115 pages
• Concept/Tagline: Best friends and stoners, Casey (a stripper) and Anna (an elementary school teacher) meet a drifter one night who sets off a series of comical and unexpected events. The girls must re-evaluate their goals, lives and roll with the punches.

• Title: Dayworld
• Type: Screenplay
• Genre: Science-Fiction/Vampire
• Status: First Draft: 75 pages
• Concept: Hundreds of years into the  future, society lives in a world that is active 24-hours a day (schools, government, industries, stores), segregating people into 2 kinds: Night and Day. The day people are the elite, wealthy, powerful. The night people live in a subculture of poverty, violence and little opportunity.  Accordingly, Night people have evolved physically to become allergic to the sun, their bodies lacking in the necessary vitamins. The story focuses around a young pregnant woman, who begins to crave the taste of raw meat. Though her pregnancy books claim a craving for raw meat is an iron deficiency, she starts to wonder if her craving for blood and allergy to the sun is something more diabolic.. She discovers she’s not the only Night person to have this craving and there exists a whole underground Vampire movement, dedicated to overthrowing the Day people and reclaiming their lives.

• Type: Full-length Screenplay
• Genre: Pre-Apocolyptic Drama/Action
• Status: Pre-Development
• Concept/Tagline: A Romeo and Juliet story set in a not-so-far off world. Tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes and other natural disasters wreak havoc on the planet, and humankind is making its own preparations accordingly. Two sides, one liberal, humanitarian, pro-technology and pacifism continues to spend money on developing alternative energy resources and health care. The other side, conservative, religious, pro-gun, pro-land and traditionalist seeks to protect their family legacies and hunker down to survive the apocalypse. One liberal woman seeks to combine the efforts of the two sides, insuring mankind’s survival. She meets a conservative man who’s only wish is to keep his family alive and cares nothing for the rest of the world. They fall in love just as the days on earth are numbered for both sides.

• Concept/Tagline:  Set in Colorado Springs, present day. The story follows the life of a prostitute who’s one passionate night with a young Iraqi war Veteran perks her curiosity to find other War on Terror vets.  She discovers a whole generation of men who share similar trauma, and like an obsession, she dedicates herself to helping them find peace in the only way she knows how.

• Genre: Autobiography/Drama
• Status: Blog/Online
• Length: 466 posts
• Concept/Tagline: Breathing at 7000 feet is tough. Living is even tougher. This is the story of a flower child’s child.  A single workin’ mama in the rural southwest. Pisces mama to a Gemini Preschooler. A transplanted local girl, dodging hippies and yuppies, tourists and cowboys in the search for happiness….and the vow that I will never eat a Rocky Mountain Oyster EVER.
